Pleasant enough walk through the Green Gables neighborhood.

Supposed to get hot today so I went kind of early, well, after giving the dog breakfast. Trying to finish up the area near Dash Point. Went down to Dash Point Sanctuary. Nice little beach - and a very low tide. Walked by some pretty pricey looking homes - and some nice yards. I'd be walking in the sun and then when I entered the shade I could feel the temperature drop by 5 or 10 degrees.
I don't like to drive just to get to a place to walk, seems wasteful somehow. Today I was at the print shop so that was a good place to park the car and go walk.
Did about 3 1/4 miles. Started off with some (but not a lot) of traffic and apartments. Then, two dead end roads! One was quite a steep hill and ended at the water. Smelled very salty! The other dead end was 'just' an amazing view.
She didn't mind me at all! |
kind of hard to see them - but there's comorants out there |

Interesting walk today. I was going to be in the south end of town so thought I'd walk there. Decided on an area in-between North Lake and Watson's Nursery.
Nice neighborhood. Interesting how large the homes were - and how close together. But something I liked was everywhere I went there'd be a bench nestled in the trees or a little 'pocket park.
And then I found this little pathway through the trees! What a treat!
I like to walk. Trouble was I was getting bored walking in my neighborhood and driving to Celebration Park to walk the BPA trail was getting old too.
Then I read a story about a guy who walked every single street in New York City! Wow! I was impressed. It got me thinking, Federal Way is much smaller than New York City and - why not?!
The big issue was how was I going to keep track along the way? Currently I'm bouncing between Google mymap and Scribble. The jury is still out.
Well, here I am about two months into my walking project - and all is going well! I'm using Google mymap and it seems to be working well, it won't curve when the road curves - but you can't beat the price! This has been interesting, I don't hurry when I walk and often end up in conversations with people. I love looking at the yards and the landscaping. And ducks and bunnies and dogs!
